Guineas and gardening go well together. Guineas don't scratch up your plants or eat your plants the way chickens do. Guineas eat weeds, bugs, and weed seeds. In groups they will attack snakes.

If you're worried about them getting along with your chickens, I'd suggest that you raise the guineas keets with your chicks...worked for me last spring...

Here's hoping that your hen will go broody. I finally gave up on mine after a ridiculous amount of eggs went bad. I guess I'll see if my neighbors silkie has any luck.
You could try an incubator or silkie hen if you don't want to chance the cold. Good luck!
