I am not sure of the difference, except the speed control that my 98E didn't have, which I really wanted for FMQ. For straight seams, I turn that puppy up to full speed and pedal to the metal. It's fairly heavy. Not as heavy as my 1952 Elna Supermatic, but close.

You can't go wrong with a Juki. I have the Haruka TL-18QVP. It's just a straight stitch, but oh boy is it fast and powerful. And if you do decide to get back into doing some quilting, the throat height and length is plenty big enough for FMQ. (Don't look at the retail price in the link. I paid...

I would love to get an Accuquilt, but it’s just a wish as I can’t justify the cost.

I get the burnout Cyn. That's why I only do one craft show a year. It keeps it fun instead of being a job. Plus I have 11 months to prepare for it, which also keeps it fun. I'm glad you are keeping a machine. You never know when the bug will strike again. Beautiful quilts! You have the seam...

So what has everyone been working on? My latest project under my needle is a stars quilt. It's a nice rainy day here. Perfect for quilting.

I haven't posted for a while and a lot has gone on. I finally got my sewing room finished. Here is a video tour. It's so light and bright and I love being in my 3rd story sanctuary. I just finished this quilt top. The pattern is Big Stars Little Stars by Cozy Quilt Designs. Fun to make and...

That’s beautiful! I am off work this week and got a couple of quilts done. One is a wall hanging and the other is a lap quilt I don’t seem to have a picture of yet.

Thanks! I figure I am getting ready for retirement in about 7 to 10 years. My hubby’s bad cat thinks she wants to quilt or at least be sewn into it. She just hopped up and flopped down.

Well, I went on vacation and brought home a new Babylock Tiara III sit down longarm. I have been practicing on a big dream panel and enjoying the process. These panels are addicting!

It bunched up even with a walking foot? What setting was your stitch length? It should be at 3 or about 8 to 10 stitches to the inch for something that bulky.

Yeah, I would hold out. Oh, maybe in a thrift store you can find a super cheap high shank machine that has one with it. Then you have a back up machine and a walking foot. The thrift store near me had machines the other day for $25 and $30.

They are spendy, but worth every penny. Did you try Amazon? I am having to sew in the dining room. We are pushing out some walls in the attic that will expand my sewing area by over 300 sq ft. That entailed moving half my current room into and on top of the other half and covering the long arm...

My aunt sent me a sack of teeshirts from her world travels. I haven't started it, but I did get some lightweight fusible to stabilize the fabric so it won't stretch much and will then cut out 12-1/2 inch blocks or whatever is uniform among the teeshirt fronts. I will probably frame them with a...
