Change of plan with my breeding cages I was getting made... So, the shed is up and is all secure but the person who was meant to be making the custom cages isn't able to do it anymore unless I wanted smaller sizes, which I don't. So I've gone for a simpler plan... I'm getting two 4ft x 3ft...

I've noticed that hatches during winter throw more females and hatches during summer throw more males :confused: I know some others have seen different correlations etc and it's probably just coincidence but it's a strange one!

Oh no... My incubator accidentally turned itself on today and 10 eggs rolled into it :confused:

I've just got a new shed put up which will house three metal breeding/show preparation cages! I can't wait to get them, they'll also occasionally be used for broodies. I'll be keeping the male in one, my whites in another and partridges in another too. My other colours like my blues and golds...

Sorry I've been pretty inactive everyone but Zoltan went to his new home today! Looking forward to my new male I'm getting on the 22nd...I need names when I get him :)

So guys...I got my new car and the boot is a lot smaller so at most I can only fit two pet carriers into it when showing :( So good thing the back seats are big! They get to ride to the shows in style instead :gig I need a sticker saying "The Silkie Mobile"...

Ah since mine are bearded cross partially bearded, the ones that hatch with a poor beard tend to have gross looking 'wattle patches' whereas the fully bearded ones hatch with no patches. Hopefully when I get my next male they'll all hatch fully bearded all the time!
