Australians - Where are you all????

Not sure on averages, but one of my friends has a hen thats over 10 years old- she hasn't laid for a long long time, and shes ratty as anything! I think shrs a special case though, they seem to either get eaten, sick or simply drop dead long before old age xD

She must be pushing 4 or 5 now, or maybe even older! They were already pretty old when we got them. And we're in Victoria :D Though the weather has taken a turn for the worse again :/

Australians - Where are you all????

It was a pretty small one, so I wouldn't feel bad! It was probably only 5 seconds long, maybe a little longer. Not as big as the one a little while back! Apparently it was only a 4.3, so nothing too exciting.

Australians - Where are you all????

I'd been carrying her up to the coop every night for the better part of two months, so I tried to get her to relocate to the coop, at least. And my jaws getting along better, I won't be able to eat...

Australians - Where are you all????

Sadly I think we lost the frizzle in my profile pic... I went for jaw surgery a few days ago so I've had to rely on my dad to put the chickens away, and the frizzle is one who always hides under the table when she sleeps so you have to move her yourself. The first night she was there and he...

Australians - Where are you all????

Our hens have pretty much stopped laying as well. Its ridiculously cold, and they're probably sick of having to lay in such cold weather! That or they're hiding the eggs, which would not surprise me. I found two of the new pullets eggs hidden in a cardboard bow that had some hay thrown in for...

Australians - Where are you all????

Looks like lots of aussies on here! I'm glad, means there are more people to buy chickens from here xD Has anyone else been affected by all the rain and flooding in Victoria? Our coop is on higher ground but gets a little river flowing through it from the hill behind it xD Not a pleasant thing...
