You are going to be hand turning right? This means that you are going to be opening your incubator a lot. Do not adjust the temperature control for at least an hour after you have turned the eggs/close the incubator.

My whole point is you can't trust the reading on your bator. Having at least one separate thermometer to calibrate is a must, imo. Google how to calibrate a thermometer so you can compare it to the reading on your bator.

How are you going to see this hot spot if you don't have calibrated thermometers in your bator?

    11th Annual Easter Hatch a Long 2020

That's good but what if one spot is getting too hot and you're rotating the eggs around and each egg is getting a chance to sit in this one spot everyday?

You better learn you bator quickly. Go get some thermometers you can calibrate. A humidty gauge too.

Buy 4 thermometers. I guarantee you that that all four will read different temps at the exact same time. You must know, at one quick glance, which spot in your bator is running hotter. Easy to tell if you have multiple trusted thermometers in it.

I use a still air incubator and I keep mine at 100F.

Go buy two more thermometers and calibrate them. Don't trust the digital reading on your bator. Go buy a humidity gauge and salt test it too.
