    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

Walt, Is there a difference between the wild and non? I am just confused about your response. I thought there was not a difference, but maybe I was wrong?

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

Are these considered pure bred and recognized by the APA? I like the look. How come she does not have the mallard wing stripes? It would seem they would have that since that is something many associate with the mallard breed. Sorta like our khaki mallard mix Vanilla Bean. If you are...

Were the pictures I posted about a week ago help to you? Could you tell the size of him? I know his coloring was not pretty, but I thought since the judge said his size was good, I would post pictures of him. Well, I hope whatever you were wondering has been answered.

Wow, your drake looks similar at least in the picture to our molting pure khaki drake. I'll attach a photo of him below. I love how the duck's body is more khaki colored, but she has the mallard eye stripe. I am wondering if our little Vanilla Bean is going to look similar. Thanks for sharing!

Your drake looks like a campbell is that what he is? And the duck like a khaki/mallard, is that what she is? Sorry, I have not been reading everything that was posted.

This is my daughters show drake. We were told he fits standard pretty close to perfect. He is considered a little fat, but the judge said you cannot help this because their standard is set by the wild. I had my daughter hold him and her friend hold a pop can to see the approx size. He is...

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

I did not have to explain why, she already understands the reasoning. She cannot stand when the drakes target certain females to harass. We probably would not keep any of the mallards because of this reason, if they were not the first ducks she bought. We love the mallards, but not during mating...

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

We are selling all our drakes besides the adults. I think we have six or seven little drakes and one adult drake that are going to leave. Out of those probably three or four are pure mallards and the rest are khaki mallard mixes. We have too many drakes. Some are my daughters favorite, but we...

Zombified, The ducklings are all drakes and yes they are khaki/mallard mixes. We do have some mallard drakes too. The one with the goat may be just a mallard.

No, I did not. Is that by area? My daughter and I are making a website and plan to post them on Craigslist too. They are my eleven year old daughters ducks. The duck did not want to sit still and the goat was trying to help me take the photo. So helpful :)

We have a an array of looks. We have one that was beautiful as a young duckling and now that the feathers are coming in she is starting to lose all the mallard markings and looks like the khaki. I will post some pictures of her soon. But I currently have pictures of some males that are up for...

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

M That is the thing, my daughter bought them for her tenth birthday and she does not think she kept it. I hope we do not get in any trouble selling their young. We are making a website for easy posting of her ducks and rabbits and that got me thinking about if there are any laws. Well, thank...

Okay, do you know what I should do about the pure mallards that I have to rehome? We bought their parents at tractor supply unmarked, could we still get in trouble? Thank you

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

Thank you! Is there anything that can be done if they are adults or young fully feathered ducks? Also, would I do this to the mixes? None of our store bought mallards were marked. They can fly, have their hind toe, and no tattoo or bands. Just in case you are wondering, they are mallards, not...

    MALLARD THREAD...not rouens, Mallards!

I have an important mallard question. We bought our mallards at a store. They are not marked in any way. We bred them and want to sell them, but I read that federally it is required for ALL mallards that have been hatched from domestic mallards are to be marked as such. Does anyone know about...

The drakes do look like the females when their feathers first come in, then their tail area darkens and the head begins to show green in light. I believe their leg and bill color changed too. Around the plumage color change, you could hear the quack difference. We have two babies that hatched...
