It's really pretty. Is it pink or pinkish brown? My wyandottes lay a pinkish brown egg.

Hi, everyone, just caught up on the posts. I thin most of my original group of wyandottes are laying,I get about 3-4 eggs per day most days. I have an Ameracauna, a Maran, and an Orloff. and those are not laying yet. The orloff is young, the maran and the Ameracauna are probably close to old...

Iam still only getting two eggs a day, seems like I should be getting more, my wyandottes were all supposed to be from the same hatch. I have had them since July 14th so four full months and they were supposed to be 16 weeks old when I got them. They have been laying for about three weeks now, I...

Hi everyone. It is a blustery day out here in south western Maine. No snow yet, but it is said to be coming. Very windy. Waiting for contractor to come put a door in the kitchen so the dogs can walk out to the dog yard. First morning in forever Rocky the Roo didn't wake us up at 4:30 am...

Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

I let mine out of the coop a little earlier today, my crazy poodle mix needed to go out in the dog yard. Rocky went right up to the yard, Scout was barking his fool head of and Rocky was crowing. What a racket! I was wearing my headphones, having migraine aura today, I went out to retrieve...

If the RIR's are the same age, I would say that Red is a Roo. I would think that he would be crowing though if he is 5 1/2 months old.

MB- It would be easier to tell if the RIR was standing up. Rocky didn't really crow until he was a few months old. I will try to find a picture of when we first got him. He was about five months in this photo I think. Not the best picture. The one at the top was maybe around 5 1/2 months.

We got an egg in the third nest box today, never got one in that box yet. Rosy and Elli usually lay in the first box. This egg was also laid earlier than normal. So maybe I have a third laying. If so, only five more to go! FYI, I have a RIR rooster. He has no issues with being aggressive, we...

Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Maybe, she was anxious about vacation. LOL. I think in the past week, I have had four lay eggs, I know at least three are, Rosy, Elli, and Selma, but I also think maybe Gilda is too. It seems like when they lay sometimes a couple go into the coop and roost while the other one is in the nest box...

Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Mine were older when I got them, so they aren't really friendly. I have found when they free range, I can walk around them, and they don't seem nervous. Mine lay their eggs, leave the nest box, don't seem interested in what happens to them. I have picked out a couple that were still warm this...
