Just had a batch of 17 eggs finish hatching. We lost 2 but the other 15 are all doing well. The brooder is full lol. 21 more due in the next week. Eek!! We're going to be over run by ducklings :-)

So this is a very daft question but I have to ask it anyway. At what days should I be candling Muscovy eggs? Is it days 7, 18, 25, 30 & 32?

I got mine off ebay. 48 egg and fully automatic. Holds temp and humidity perfectly. Perfect and it was just under $100 including shipping. It's a rip off of a brand name one but it's been amazing.

Also, these two eggs I have are on day 30 today. Ideally should have misted/cooled from earlier I understand, but mumma duck and a silky chook WERE brooding on them until a week ago.

Hi all:-) My incubated muscovy eggs are at day 32 today. Nobody has internally pipped. Should I be going into lockdown regardless, or waiting another day or two till somebody internally pips?

It's only my first hatch and 20 days in but it has been brilliant! No local feed stores or pet supply stores sold incubators here and I was a bit wary about buying from overseas/not locally. Despite being a knock off i couldn't be happier and the price was great.

Okay guys my incubator finally arrived today YAY :-D For muscovies, what is the ideal temp and humidity? It is an unbranded 48 egg incubator and I'm assuming the booklet is a generic guide only. Thr humidity doesn't seem to want to go above 42% and the alarm is set to 45%. I can't possibly fit...

I think our timing was about the same. We had them in the lounge room on tiles near the fireplace so it was in your face every night. I'd change floor paper and bed straw morning and mid arvo but was still pretty bad at night. We're remodeling oir laundry at the moment so not many places to...
