Mali ran through the brush, and to an identical to Mali wolf without wings she whispers "They are on to us. We must keep moving." The other wolf nodded. "Mitaki, would you mind hunting?" Mali asked. "Sure." He said, disappearing.

Mali flicked her ears. "No one. My... brother." She says. She tucks her fathers wings tight against her body.

"Oh, no." Mali said, calmly. "I just heard voices and came to inspect what was going on. I've been tracking someone and I thought it might had been him. I'm leaving now."

Mali watched the others hidden in overgrown bushes. "Of course I was not invited..." Mali whispered. She then flicked her ears and continued to watch.

Mali stepped through the thicket, using the shadow as her cover. She watched Vlad, then darted away to a timber wolf waiting under a tree, accompanied by Fuego. "Yes. The plan is a go." Mali whispered.

Mali solemly began to tell her pups how it was their time to fend for themselves. Although it hurt her deeply. she had to do it. She gently plucked four feathers from her wings. She placed them on her pups back. "These will help you on your journey." And wings began to grow on her pups backs...

Mali was gone. She had been flying for hours, her pups on her back. Glassy-eyed, she swooped downwards and stopped for a drink. She knew, with a pang of sympathy, that it was time.
