Dont know why people lie about mallards, what does it benefit? I have been lied to a few times about mallards. Some being rouens, some being mallard/call crosses. Speaking of, Buff, do you know anyone breeding snowy and white calls?
Sorry you havent been having the best of luck lately. It happens to the best of us. I lost my best female ringneck dove this week and that one hit hard. I dont know what I would do if i lost my drake though. It would be terrible. Hope things start looking up for you!
That sounds right, I think the closer to white ones are really pretty. Dont like pure white calls for some reason though. The lady I am getting mine from keeps calling them silvers, so It really threw me off at first, but I looked at them and they are blue. Which works great because I love the...
Are they on the darker side of snowy, or the almost white side of snowy? I am the same way, I like snowy calls much better. I was offered some Apricot mallard/call's last year but they were only drakes and I didnt want hybrids
Yeah I understand that, every creature has its place, but I would rather have hawks around. Crows eventually learn that ducks are a potential meal too. A friend of mine lost two runner ducks and two young cayuga ducks to a flock of crows. Thats pretty uncommon but its possible, crows are pretty...
Yeah, If I am ever in a good spot for money after highschool, I am going to work hard to import some colored mallards. I think I will have mallards for the rest of my life. Just love the dang things!
Sorry to hear about the crows, only one sure way to take care of that problem, and its not...
Yeah I know, I have been wanting calls for some time now. If I ever let them reproduce, I would remove the mallard drake for a few months before hatching. Hence why I will wait til I have more room
Buff goose guy, Any thoughts on housing my lone mallard drake with some call duckls? I dont think I will let them breed until I have room to seperate them but He needs some hens to get his duty done and calm him a little
Thats funny, I see the same stuff here, I am in 4-h and the people who win every year I never see them in the barn with their birds. I am in the barn for 4+ hours a day caring for them and just being with them and informing the public about poultry.
And yes, No apa standards are applied...
Also I see in your signature that comment about 4-h So what is your standing for that statement? Not subjecting you to anything, I am neutral on the topic
Are you sure Buff Goose Guy???? So I used to have a hen that my brother caught as a duckling, we kept her for about 2 weeks, then my mom returned her to where she was caught, I was mad because I knew it wouldnt live on its own and slim chance of finding its mom, well a few months later she flew...
Buff goose guy, the longer bill is a characteristic of them being closer descendants to wild mallard, i think america needs some fresh wild blood to get out bills longer
