I am going to try to make the one in Howell.
Note that the next day, Wednesday June 12th, is the next meeting of the Ag Commission. That meeting will be held in Detroit.
I emailed one of the presenters asking if this program would be offered in the future. This is what the...
Thanks for the update Wingless.. I was wondering how 'it' went.
I do believe that your informed and direct approach gains their respect. I can only hope that it proves to be sucessful in our favor.
And.. I have good news. I will be able to join those who are attending the Oct 31 meeting in...
I would be interested in attending/hosting/inviting MFB. For sake of fairness for everyone, I imagine these meetings should 'travel'. I would be able to get that same room again in NB and I've had a few people calling me asking if I was going to host another meeting.
Next week I will contact...
I knew MFB was going to be another resource, and I'm still waiting to hear back fro m Andrea's assistant. With the holiday week approaching, I won't hold my breath. Thank you for names/numbers. Ill be calling.
Just a couple of thoughts after the meeting in New Baltimore. I am going to put together a summary (as best that I can) and I will email it to the participants.
1. Thank you everyone who came out and shared their stories, information, and expertise.
2. Everyone that attended were 'pro BYC', no...
Coming east bound on I-94 the 26 mile road exit is CLOSED.
You are correct that both 23 mile road (the route/exit I suggest) or the Washington exit are fine. Washington will back up more due to being the detour for 26 mile road.
If you are planning on attending the meeting in New Baltimore at the MacDonald Public Library AND your driving directions have you exit at 26 mile.. THIS EXIT IS CLOSED.
I suggest you exit at 23 mile rd/Turn Right/ go approx 4 miles/ Turn Right onto Main street (Walgreens on your left) and at...
Wow.. Interesting reading. Thank you for posting.
I am still waiting to hear back from Eric (who is in turn waiting to hear back from the Michigan Farm Bureau).
I'm prepping for tomorrow's meeting. After the local story was run, I wonder how many (and who) will show up.

I sent a FB message to Randy Belcher (the property/farm owner of Shady Grove Farms) and he kindly messaged me back confirming the above. He realizes this may go further in the litigation fight, but that his attorneys are confident that RTFA will apply (like the...
And another update..I emailed a reporter in Northern Michigan regarding the Shady Grove case
Hi Michelle,
I just spoke with one of the owners of Shady Grove Farm Friday. The case is scheduled for a bench trial Nov. 20 and 21 in Marquette County Circuit Court. Not much will be happening...
Eric, the assistant to representative LaFontaine just got back with me.....
He asked someone at MDRAD about BYC and RTF and was told that because I was zoned residental I was not elidgible for RTF protection...grrrrrr.
I replied that simply is not true per case law.
Also, I could not keep...
Wow..is all I can say about MDRAD's statement on FB.
I don't know how to effectively fight this. I agree with going to meetings, writing letters, and discussions, but ultimately they (MDRAD) has the authority with no check or balance.
Does anyone know what became of the Shady Grove case in...
New MDARD director has ag in her blood
Jamie Clover Adams
For someone who's spent so much time dealing with bumpy political issues behind the scenes, Jamie Clover Adams is smooth.
Not politician-smooth, but an easy-going, farm-girl kind of smooth.
Exactly what one might expect from a farm kid...
