Haven't been on in a while but I thought I would share a bit of news, Last month a dog killed my 3 Pekins but before they passed I tucked two eggs under my broody Buff Orpington, Today I woke up to a little duckling
Ok Ya'll! Ying is alright, took her to the vet and after a thorough check up the Vet looked at her eye and seen that she was most likely pecked by the rooster. She is going to be blind in that eye but we are trying eye ointment and antibiotics in hopes to get partial eye sight back. I am just...
HELP YA'LL!!! My pekin girl woke up the other day with a horrible caked up eye and today she is wobbling around and blood is coming from her nose! No feed stores are open right now. Please help me!
I have a new Female for my very ambitious Drake. The only problem is that I CAN'T decide on a name for her. Now I have Laffy Taffy Yin and Yang but the new one has no name. ANY IDEAS?
Ok I am still here sorry Ya'll. So STILL No eggs from Ying and Yang!!! They are about 20 wks. They dont have a coop or a nest box could this be the problem? Should I give them hay or something?
Have you tried putting Niacin in his water? Does he have bumble foot? I think we need some more details on how and why this happened. Are there external wounds?

All you Newbies!!!! Would love to hear about ya'lls Pekins. Well My little hurt hen has been put on isolation again, after a bout of loving from my drake she is bald from the neck down to her tail and still tiny compared to my other hen. Oh and my other hen should be laying any day!!! Yang is...
When my drake broke Ying's leg, we put her on quail food. It has almost 30% protein and a strict no pressure regime. We did not let her get out of the coop by her self and she was isolated from my drake and other hen. It took almost a full month for her to heal. It is definitely wait and see.
Thank you so much!
BEAUTIFUL!
We have seperated Ying again. Laffy had ripped all of her feathers out from her neck down her back and they were not letting her eat. I think a little time on her own getting bigger will be good for her.
Little Ying had her broken leg and with extra care like picking her up out of the nest boxes and moving her to the water, Niacin, and extra protein she eventually healed from her injury. It was bad to. She laid around all the time and hardly moved. that is just the way they heal. They take it...
