Ok Ya'll! Ying is alright, took her to the vet and after a thorough check up the Vet looked at her eye and seen that she was most likely pecked by the rooster. Have you tried putting Niacin in his water? Does he have bumble foot? I think we need some more details on how and why this happened. Are there external wounds?

Depends on how bad the laceration is. If it is going to come home with you and die from wounds I probably would not get it. But other wise I say go for it. Can't find a reason to not have more eggs.

When my drake broke Ying's leg, we put her on quail food. It has almost 30% protein and a strict no pressure regime. We did not let her get out of the coop by her self and she was isolated from my drake and other hen. It took almost a full month for her to heal. It is definitely wait and see.

Thank you so much! BEAUTIFUL! We have seperated Ying again. Laffy had ripped all of her feathers out from her neck down her back and they were not letting her eat. I think a little time on her own getting bigger will be good for her.

Little Ying had her broken leg and with extra care like picking her up out of the nest boxes and moving her to the water, Niacin, and extra protein she eventually healed from her injury. It was bad to. She laid around all the time and hardly moved. that is just the way they heal. They take it...
