There's residue in the eggs. Feeding them back to your chickens will eventually help worms build resistance to the wormer, not to mention extending the withdrawal period. Give the eggs to your dogs.

Jefferslivestock.com has valbazen. You can order online or call them.

Yeah, if you got alot of chickens with seperate pens/coops, it's easiest to worm one group at a time, or perhaps a few weeks down the road as not to lose total egg production due to withdrawal periods...that's what I do. There's nothing saying that they all have to be wormed at once, especially...

    De-worming chickens.

How do you know your birds will drink the treated water, and if they do drink, will they drink enough of it to be effective? Birds also drink less in cooler temps. Sick birds drink little if any at all.

Most of the info in post #50 is correct, there's a couple that arnt. Valbazen can be administered as mentioned, supposedly for better gut coverage. Undiluted works just as well, less liquid for the bird to swallow without worrying if it goes down the windpipe causing the bird to aspirate.

Valbazen cattle/sheep wormer, Jefferslivestock.com carries it. For your small birds, dose orally 1/4cc to each bird. Redose them again 10 days later. Standard size birds 1/2cc orally, redose again in 10 days.

I dont know about equine. In chickens, what damage can a "managable" wormload do internally? ONE roundworm can lay thousands of eggs in one day to be excreted onto your soil only to be picked up by your other chickens infecting them, starting the worms lifecycle all over again. A regular worming...

Misinformation in post # 50. Ivermectin 1% injectable does not kill worms in chickens due to worm resistance over the years. Additionally... ivermectin pastes, injectables, pour ons and eprinex do not kill tapeworms. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1439-0450.1989.tb00635.x/abstract

Quote: Thanks CheekyMare. We have panacur here as well, havnt seen it in powder form though. It's a very good wormer and kills most worms. I've used it in the liquid and paste form as safeguard (fenbendazole.)

Quote: can I give Wazine to my goats and rabbits too? Just figured I would like to get an all around product so I am not paying out the nose for a bottle that is going to end up going bad before I can use it all....also, can I just add Wazine to their water? Or MUST I give it to each bird...

    De-worming chickens.

Quote: One reason why you might not be getting eggs is the loss of daylight hours. Mine have slacked off laying as well and some of them are in molt. They normally dont lay during molt, yours are too young to molt except for your oldest chicken. It also states on the bottle of wazine "do not...

Wazine dosage is one ounce per one gallon of water. That'll be enough for 24 hours for 5 chickens. It's best to put it out for them first thing in the morning prior to letting them out for the day, they will be thirsty and will readily drink the treated water. It must be their sole source of...
