This may be a silly question, but will a hen fight a rooster? I was watching my two chicks (6wks old) and they looked light they were fighting. They were going head to head. I thought one was a Silkie Hen and the other a Cochin too. Now, I'm wondering if the Silkie is also a too??

Bantam question...can they roost with the LF or do they need their own coop? I've heard different opinions?

I think my son's little pullet is looking more like a roo, what do you all think?

So, turns out he was just wedged to tight between the egg next to him. He slid right out, after I moved the other egg over. Now, we're dealing with a poor little one that hatched upside down and with his insides out, plus a bit of the final egg yolk out. We've managed to tie off the egg yolk...

Pure Ameraucana Hatching Eggs. Only 6 available. These are from private breeder stock, not hatchery birds. These were shipped to me from another BYC member and I don't have room in my incubator for all of them. Letting 6 go to the highest bidder, starting at $20. We're in Kiowa, but can meet in...

I have 18 Black Australorp eggs in my Brinsea Eco20, I purchased from a show breeder in Florida. Anyone interested in these for their home flocks or 4H? I'll sell most of these off, just wanting a few for myself. We're in Kiowa, but can meet in Castle Rock, Parker or South Denver. Also...

We're about an hour from Denver proper. Someone had Australorp eggs in the Spring, can't remember who? We are definitely interested when they are ready.

Well it's been quite the chore with our new move. I haven't been on in awhile, just getting settled in. My husband is building a rabbit hutch in the garage for our new Satin Angora babies coming soon. Next on the list is a chicken coop. I've bought a small Brinsea incubator and hoping to...

We would be interested in your pure BA eggs, probably not until early Spring though. Are your BA from hatchery birds or from a breeder? My son is also looking to show as well?

We will have 10 acres, no structures yet - just the house (we will be building those as well as adding trees/landscaping). It's currently zoned Ag. It would be in Elbert County.

We would probably start with 25 meat birds. We are trying our hand at going organic and free-range. Can we order the birds without antibiotics? We supposed to close on the house on the 16th of January, so excited. We found the plans for the chicken coop we want and just purchased those this...

Thanks for the helpful info on chickens in Kiowa and 4H. We've signed the kids up and will start slow with chickens and probably not enter chickens, until next year. Daughter wants to do rabbits and dogs this year and already signed up for the year. We're heading to the Stock Show, but going...

We're moving to Kiowa, 10 acres and can't wait to have chickens again! We had to sell our chickens when we moved back to Colorado 5 years ago and then again 4years ago when our current HOA said not allowed (the chickens move to the city of Denver). We're looking for Austraulorps, purebred as...

We have two pure Ameraucana pullets about 9 weeks that we have been told we should probably cull, as they were received with an URI. I am very sad, as we spent a small fortune getting them here. They are exhibiting sympotms and I don't want to infect my other three pullets (kept seperatly). I...

We're wiling to pay for a small coop or even a rabbit hutch. Just to house a couple birds for a few weeks to quarantine. If anyone has anything lying around we could use, let me know.
