That Liver was definitely not happy. Might have been being compressed by the pressure from the yolk sac, it looks an odd shape, and therefore the blood flow wasn't right.
The heart tissue looks very pale too. I've been looking at those 'clots'. They look decidedly well shaped. Are they just the contents of very friable Atria? I can see tissue striations around them. OR the Atria burst? Just a thought.

Thanks for your comments... I did more research and found an article that said the clots are a common post mortem finding, and probably true, because the next one I did had the same thing. Second chick lived for 41 days with the yolk.
Of course doing the necropsies saddens me, but it also fascinate me.
