Breeding Cornish Rocks - is it possible?

Ok, I have seen many discussions about crossing LF Cornish with different breeds to achieve something similar to Cornish rock broilers. HOWEVER, I don't recall seeing anything where someone actually used their Cornish rocks as breeders. I have heard that it is difficult because of their heavy bodies to mate naturally. Has anyone kept CX hens in their breeding program? I have 6 and of these there is a particular one that I am more impressed with, nice body and growth, no ailments, perfect feathering, active and smart and also this bird does not poop on itself like the other 5 (they are almost 7 weeks old now). I am considering keeping and crossing her to either a buckeye or straight Cornish (both which I have already). I am leaning towards the buckeye as these grow faster than cornish. Has anyone done this and what are the results?? Thanks!

I saw a post of someone here who kept one hen and bred her but it would be tricky. You can over feed and you probably need one that's naturally on the smaller side. They can end up with lots of health problems- they're not bred to live more than a few months. Let me see if I can find the post. I think it was titled something like everything you've read about Cornish x is wrong

The CX pullet I mentioned before (actually I have separated two of them over the last 2 weeks) started out slightly on the smaller side. I do not feed them all day like the others - they are kept in with same age chicks of other breeds, only slightly larger in size although heavier. They are fed 2ce a day but usually do not empty their food dish. They sleep with the larger flock (about 55 birds) and by day roam a small fenced yard with 5 other chicks so they don't get picked on. So they get more exercise, less food, and seem to be developing in line with the heritage birds. They are definitely more active and agile than their CX sisters in the garage.
