What is the best way to cut metal roofing? I have an overhang from the carport that dumps water into my chicken run. (Wish it was angled the other direction.) I'd like to cut it back to the edge of the carport so I can run a gutter to a dry well and channel the overflow away from the run.

Any ideas? I have an electric metal shear that could work, but I've never used it.

Use that or a circular saw. Take an old blade put it on backwards. Snap you a straight chalk line and let er rip. Be prepared, ITS LOUD AS HECK.

very cool, I love the first one! and most of the wood is from "trash" at work? and you sell them, list them on CL? thats awesome! Where do you find the roofing? thats the most expensive part. My oldest son bought me a dewalt compressor and a four set nailer stapler set a few years ago, I love them! I have bought a few more nailers, makes projects go so fast, even putting fencing up outside. If I could get into doing more little stuff I can get out of doing the other stuff I dont want to do anymore, like watching kids here and there.. I have kids since I was 20 and I love kids but man I need a break. and besides fishing I love my woodworking and building stuff. but I dont want to ruin what I already do though.
No, not from work. There's a siding company near me that ships in framed crates. Pay attention

I agree, sc, those are great.

Thanks

When you figure it out, you tell me

Shears work ok, but the corrugation makes it hard to cut in a straight line. What I've started doing is putting a metal cutting blade on my table saw and cutting it that way. Don't do it without ear plugs, and don't mind the molten metal on your arms. The pain goes away...

Yep, I've done that, too. The first time I didn't put the blade on backwards. Then you get the wonderful experience of partially molten metal embedded in your arm

Thank you Sally. By the way, I got my extra Chicken calendar today.
What's funny about calling it the wild turkey window is that WV had absolutely nothing to do with it that night
That's not what Ravyn said, but I'll take it.

Same piece :gig
:smack pallets rip those belts up and send them up over the mountain! what kind of belt sander do you use I want one if it works! I tried everything, only thing I found that I have is a wheel with wire brush and then down to grits and then I can sand with my sander. I saw on one of the AK shows I watch they used a hand planer that was kicken butt! but of course on pine :he
I bought an electric Bosch hand-held planer. Its sa-weeet! I also have a huge 13" Jet planer, but its a PITA to use.

I was laughing but serious too... it's good for them... just watch the salt...

Flock, I can't spell! :gig

Hahahahahah!!!! You're just like me! :lau

As long as that Eskimo doesn't count over 8007, everything will be fine :thumbsup
