French frogs

Rav! :hugs you had a good day then?

:hugs busy and productive at least, lol... tired now and haven't even started building yet... tomorrow will be a beast...

Lucky!!
You're in the right place!! Lots of help here and lots of people will be hatching in spring.
I love the white. Think they might be my fav. I can't believe you have so many eggs!!! That is awesome!!!

The new flock has been popping out 2-3 eggs per day and Lady Grey is still solid at an egg a day... Io is adorable, but I prefer the Silvers over the Whites...

[quote name="RavynFallen" my flocks drakes found their little blue pills... :gig
:yesss: :celebrate :jumpy

I must have dropped them....[/quote]

Interesting. But what happens in case of disaster?

Well, put it in perspective. I provide top of the line incubators (GQF 1402, Brinsea Ova Easy 380, Brinsea Octagon 20s). I calibrate and hand pick my best eggs that are fresh and clean, put them in sanitized flats in a sanitized incubator, turn on the turner, put some water in the reservoir, and go on vacation.

When I come back, I candle and send pics. If more than 5 chicks hatch out of a dozen, then all the extra chicks are free. So it's worth the gamble for the buyer. 50% is a pretty abysmal hatch rate that I could hit in the EZ-Bake, so in the GQF it should be easy.

I'd like to line up a second customer. It's the double or nothing mentality.

And I changed the price before I quoted the customer. I get $4 a dozen for table eggs, $12 a dozen for select hatching eggs (same eggs, but special handling and handpicking for best shell quality and consistent size), or $20 a dozen run through my incubator.

You'll get at least decent hatches for them, no doubts there... sounds like a good plan... hope you get more customers!

Sounds like we had similar days. We gathered winterizing stuff today but didn't get home in time to actually do anything, so tomorrow looks like a busy day!
