What to feed my babies!?

I just got my first chickens!! I'm brand new to chickens so I though this site would be great since I've already read through many threads before I got my girls.

I am feeding them Purina medicated chick starter, but after reading a thread and seeing how many people hate Purina I'm a little scared for my girls.

I want to switch them off, my local feed store doesn't have great options though.

Purina
Nutrena
Layena
Manna pro
Nature wise
And some organic brand under one of the above

What should I do!?!?

Hi Rachel,

I don't know what the negative comments about Purina are but if the feed contains the necessary ingredients to grow healthy chicks, I think that's more important than brand name. Here's an article from the Learning Center with information on what birds at various ages need:

Hi, I'm sure i posted on your thread this morning (Kenya time) - but my sentiments written were those akin NFC above. As long as its starter / chick feed then don't sweat it.
