In the Brooder
So after a lot of searching for a pre-built coop and after a lot of reading on here about the quality of them I decided to build my own from scratch. After pricing out materials it also was going to prove to be significantly cheaper if I built myself.
Started out with a trip to Lowes for supplies:
Used concrete footers as I didn't want to make it a permanent structure and got the initial framing completed
Started working on the gable roof and getting the trusses installed
Sub-roof and siding installed, the opening on the side in the picture below will be a fold down door for easy cleaning
Didn't cut hole for entry yet as I want an automatic door but not sure which brand to get yet (advice would be appreciated) and the nesting boxes will be going on the long side pictures below with opening lids for easy access.
This coming weekend will be painting and adding trim, attaching the metal roof and starting the run!
