I got a rooster by accident last November and it's my favorite chicken and I live in walnut Creek, California and we are only allowed 3 hens and no roosters! When will these ordinance change? I don't know what to do. He sleeps in our guest house in a dog crate at night. He's got a no crow collar as well. Any advise? Thanks
 
Find a good home for him where you know he'll be loved and cared for I guess. Or wait until you are caught and pay the fine.
 
most/all cities around here will not allow roosters for a reason

so instead of wasting time and money on raising them in a location that is not allowed

1- you can return the rooster to the pet store
2- you can list it on craiglist give away or sell
