Its about to be lock down for my eggs and I read I need to raise the humidity. How do I do that and keep the temperature at 99.5? I don't want to add water and leave and it get too hot!!

What is your current humidity? I just started lockdown late last night. I'm running mine at 65%, finally got it stable.

Humidity is influenced by surface area, not volume, so you want something like a cake pan (it can be shallow), people also use glasses of water, wet sponges or hand towels....

How big is your bator? Home made or commercial?

When are yours due to hatch? Mine is Friday and I'm wondering if I should take the turner out tonight or wait until tomorrow?

I took my turner out Saturday afternoon, they're due to hatch Wednesday.... I'm so nervous

, this is my first incubated hatch.

I've read on here that it's ok to stop turning at day 14, by then the chick is well developed and it won't hurt....

Good luck! I was unsuccessful with my first 2 hatches (it got too hot). So I'm giving it another go but I've been monitoring the temp everyday, so far I've only lost 1 out of 10. Mine are due to hatch Friday and I took the turner out last night (Monday).

Good luck to you too!

Today is day 20 and I don't have a single pip yet, out of 20 eggs. Last I candled, only about 4-6 looked viable, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I set the 20. I've started playing a youtube video of chicks cheeping, to see if I get a response from any of the eggs

Nothing yet, but I'm not giving up easily! Those eggs can sit in there until they stink!

Did your eggs ever hatch? I have 2 so far pipping but I had to leave for work so I don't know about any others.

Day 24 and I have had 4 to hatch! 3 have been moved under a heat lamp and the 1 born yesterday isn't (still in incubator) looking so well. It keeps laying on its side and doesn't walk around any and keeps shaking. I'm not sure what to do but just leave it in there until its completely dry.
