What's wrong with my dog?

Ok so I have a black lab mix with Pitt bull dog. I think he is around 10, and recently he has been hiding, and earlier he was coughing in his sleep. He even had his eyes closed as he was coughing! I'm afraid he is dying....any thoughts? Thanks so much.
 
I would recommend a vet visit. it could be something bad, such as congestive heart failure, or something minor like kennel cough or another respritory infection.

I am sorry to read that your dog is unwell and wish that I could help. There is a long list of possible reasons for his symptoms and I would not take the chance of trying to treat him without the required medical experience; too risky and time may be of the essence. I have to agree with dainerra that it sounds like a trip to the Vet is required ASAP.
