8 week old Gold Laced Wyandotte : roo or pullet?

700

Hi PD-Riverman, the reason why I suspect a roo is that I purchased a Blue Laced Wyandotte chick at same time at GLW chick. As they developed, the GLW chick was larger than the Blue. The feet are much larger as well as overall size. Much more assertive behavior and lastly the comb and wattles are pink while the Blues are pale. Also last spring, I ended up with a GLW roo and the two look alike. But the size of comb seems to be smaller..Here is photo from last years GLW that turns out to a roo, he is at 10-11 weeks in this photo.

Goodness, Face says Cock, Tail says Pullet!
I think this gi-Um, '"bird" Is very hard to sex.I would wait and if you get a egg, Pullet, if "it" crows, then Cock.

It's a hen! I've had wyandottes before and if it was a roo the coloring would be different and it's comb would be MUCH larger!

Wyandottes are so easy to sex!
What would you think of this little one. Approximately 7-8 weeks old... Sold to me as a pullet as was a 2nd one who looks almost identical. Someone told me its automatically a roo because it got waddles. Really hoping the store didn't mess up. Even my Speckled Sussex pullets have very small pale waddles. Same age.

I was unable to load more than 1 photo with Mobile app....here is standing shot. Thank you!
I think my chickie looks a lot like yours. I got them from a kinder hatch so I was told they are likely BYM but I think she’s a Wyandotte 16 weeks hoping we’ll see some eggs soon 😬
