Mille Cochin Info

Pics
Thanks MsBear for the hints on posting. The little red guy is too young to mate, and I don't have any other roosters- so I am not letting the broody hen set on any eggs. Am in the market for a nicely marked rooster with good conformation (like everyone else! LOL).

Thanks Krys! That's more or less what I had in mind.

Are there other down patterns that birds with partridge might have? I'll have to think about it to be sure, but out of all my chicks I'm not sure I've ever hatched a simple partridge chick.....

I added a few birds to the down color analogy on the mille fleur progress page if anyone is interested... Further, if anyone has some photos and would like me to update their project or add to the analogy, just holler

When you get a chance, please add a pic of my cockerel for the next generation. I'm still planning to get some pics of my selected pullets in the next few days, just haven't had a chance yet!

Thanks!

I just want to say that the Mille Fleur Progress page is a wonderful resourse for newbies like me! I'm curious as to how anyone knew what to breed to what to develop the pattern in the first place. To plan ahead generations in order to achieve the desired results.

The chick down devleopment is another great too and I would also be very interested in seeing photos showing what chicks of a certain color at say 4 weeks would look like at 8 and 12 weeks and as adults. Is there a predictability factor or is it completely random?
