You have such pretty birds. I'm seriously thinking about getting into brahmas but I'd like to work on polish for atleast a year or two before getting TOO many breeds.

Very pretty kids. Still just love those blues.

Do you find your SLW's have any personality? I'm kinda disappointed in mine. I can't tell if they are just that way normally, or if the other girls are just so over bearing that I don't notice them too much.

Deniece, they are different than, say, my Barred Rocks, who explode with personality. They are rather quiet, but sort of sweet with what I call "little girl voices" they use. When I talk to them, they say "uh, huh!" in a lilting, sweet little voice. I call them my Yes Girls. Lacy is rather bossy with the other girls. Violet and Lorelei, the other two are also sweet, but Lorelei gets into scraps with a couple of the other girls (Lorelei is single-combed), especially Sunny, who had a knock-down, drag-out fight with her when Sunny was broody and now they keep away from each other most of the time. So, I like them alot, but they are definitely different than some of the more "in your face" types. I think they sort of round out the personality spectrum, if you will, and I like having them because they aren't exactly like the others.

Hmm - I think I know those crooked BR combs from SOMEWHERE...!

Everyone looks great! I love Big Red's baby girls - wish mine had gotten the poufy head, too!

Yep, you should know those BR girls since they're your big guy's daughters! Mandy has a huge wavy comb, as you see, and Becca's has several points that are sort of stumpy. Mandy is very broad, too, like a striped tank of a girl. I love them, especially Becca. She and Ivy look alot alike and are always sneaking up on the deck looking for goodies, the little mooches.

Well, the hen inside the fence is a Speckled Sussex. The Poufy Headed Sisters arent Polish, though. They are Cochin/Silkie crossed with Barred Rock and the best little girls!
Here's a picture of Nelda, the Speckled Sussex girl:
