NPIP Certification in New York

When registering with NPIP do you have to own a business or will they just come out and test the flock??

Each state has their own NPIP program, that’s not totally true, two states opt out of NPIP. Hawaii is one, I can’t remember the other. Some states have the bare minimum testing requirements and other states add additional requirements. They administer them differently too.

I can’t imagine any state having a requirement that you be a business but occasionally I get surprised. The people that know the requirements live in your state and run your state program. I’d go online and do some research at their website to see what they say, then contact them and ask them any questions you have.

You can get contact information at this link.

Welcome to BYC!

I don't think you have to own a registered business to have NPIP testing done.

This is a very old thread...but am curious how @McSpin
's situation was resolved.

I actually ended up calling Albany NY. I found that you don't have to own a business. I set up a time in April for my own flock to be certified!
