seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

This is one of my silkies with some chicks that she hatched for other hens. She's a great mum!
I realize that giving your silkie a regular haircut probably counts as sacrilege in these circles... but all our chickens free-range and therefore need to see where they're going. They always become much more agile after visiting the chicken barber hide

My "mobile flower arrangement":
Silver-spangled Hamburg, Silver-penciled Wyandotte, White Silkie, Golden Lakenvelder, Welsummer, Easter Egger, Red Leghorn, Olive Egger andBlue and Splash Ameraucanas.

I just got 8 Blue Silkies today...hatched on Tuesday. Very cute.

americana-chick.......Will try and take pics and figure out how to post them tomorrow. Had my 4 y.o. g'son today for the second day in a row and I'm sort of exhausted ! :-)) He's a loooot younger then I am !
