Silkie Ducks

I've been wanting some silkie ducks for a while. The only place I can find them is Holderreads. Does anyone know of any other hatcheries or breeders that sell silkie ducks?

No, I wish I could give you an idea about that.  They are lovely!

Please consider adopting rescued ducks.

People often ask if they should "put down" a bird that has suffered major injuries.  In my experience, birds appreciate the opportunity to recover.  Ducks have an amazing ability to heal, even from injuries that appear to be catastrophic.

I am curious as to how long they have been around, because i was wondering if there was a standard of perfection for them in the APA book.

We have one from Holderreads.  She is a gray female and such a cutie!  Very nice breed of ducks.  They are not an accepted breed in the APA. She's a bit hard to see in her show cage, but you can tell the feathers are longer and silky-er in nature.  They do not resemble silky chickens!

Wouldn't it be something if they did!  If they looked like a Silkie chicken with a duck bill and duck feet? lol
