Ideal Poultry.
I sure didn't like the qualidy from ideal on my sumatras came from them and they are pet quality for sure. Regardless the check off the flighted chicken box and are alert enough to not become raptor food has them being Sumatra enough. Also the Sumatra roo's being jerks box was ticked off too!

I'll add, please don't be offended if they ask to see pictures of your setup and flock. I have become so picky about who I want to sell birds to even when I desperately need to downsize. I've had instances where I've given a bird to someone and walked away with a bad feeling in my gut about what life I just dealt them, and it isn't a good feeling. I know everyone has different opinions on husbandry, but I don't think it's a bad sign if a seller wants to know the conditions they are sending their animals too. Of course, some people simply don't care.
X2, x3, X4 etc.

I don't recommend Craigslist either but as @SunHwaKwon has suggested is excellent advice. I sometimes put my birds up for sale on Craigslist. In fact, I'm getting ready to put 3 Red Golden juvenile cockbirds on it.
There's 'good' and 'bad' breeders out there everywhere you just have to be careful when buying live birds from anyone. Look at their facilities, that will tell you alot about how the conditions the birds are raise and the quality of the birds they raise. In short, do your homework.

My husband bought our first rooster and a couple of pullets from craigslist. They were wonderful RIRs. Clean and healthy. On the otherhand, I bought two CCL through craigslist. They were sweet and clean hens. BUT not good examples of the breed. Both died fairly young of reproductive issues even though I spent a fortune in vet bills.
Every time I have tried to sell a cockrell on craigslist, I've changed my mind. The people who answered my ads just creeped me out. (Of course, we are just 1.5 hrs from Canton & I'm a bit overprotective of my animals.)
I wouldn't let strangers come near my property.
I have all the chickens I need but I would buy off craigslist again, though if I found some nice bantam eggs.

Thanks, everyone. I am wanting one female silver, gold, and buff Sebright. I am looking at buying from Ideal Poultry however they only offer straight run so I would have to order 3/each just to be safe.

No roosters allowed per HOA...

Anyone in NW Houston area selling Sebrights?

Well darn, I have a buff and a gold for sale. I'm near Corpus though, but if I head your way or you head mine, let's get in touch.

BTW I typically order 2 of each variety of bantam I want from Ideal and with the exception of frizzle cochins I have always ended up with either two females or a pair!

ETA have you seen this? https://houston.craigslist.org/grd/d/bacliff-gulf-coasts-premiere-chickens/6875060175.html

Now I am thinking of driving up there to get a Penedesenca pullet... unless you want to get it for me and meet me halfway to exchange!

One of my favorite pullets, a runty OEGB, decided to go broody a couple weeks ago. Since then, she has started limping more and more. I checked her out several times and nothing feels wrong with the bones and joints of the "hurt" leg, although yesterday her muscles in the leg seemed very tight and perhaps swollen, so my thought is she is getting stiff from sitting and/or losing circulation in the leg (blood vessels that I could see looked fine but the nails in that foot are not growing as much and are darker). I am trying to decide if I should let her sit it out another week until she has her babies - at which point she may not be able to adequately care for them - or try to break her broodiness and preserve her health and mobility. I think I know the best option, I'm just looking for more opinions. I have three other broodies I can give her eggs to.

This could be signs of vitamin deficiencies from not eating well.
Can you force feed her or would messing with her be too much?
I say put the eggs in the bator and don't let her starve herself to death.

Her crop feels good and when I throw treats she comes out and tries to run around. She's nesting under some steps which I think gives her very little room to move around and contributes to the problem. I have everything needed for force feeding. I could also separate her into one of my rabbit hutches so I can monitor her intake. If it breaks her I guess that will be fine. I think that is the route I will take, now that I think about it.
