Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

I would love to go to the serama show on 3/3/12, but I have plans.
Are there any Serama breeders in Northern, CA.? I LOVE them and want one so bad.

Wish I could get these
http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/zip/2877842591.html
We have some Mobile Storage units on our property that have to go as soon as possible. The city of Victorville does not want them on our property anymore so we must move them. First come first serve, if you can move them you can have them free of Charge!
Please email me if you are interested. The units are 5x5 5x10 and 5x15. We have about 12 of them. You can have them all if you want them.
I would be willing to give anyone free storage that moves them off of our property for us!!
I took the e-mail off don't know if it's allowed but you can see it at the link also has pictures.

Oh good! Looks like I have at least 8 girls so giving you each 1 is totally doable (plus I'm saving one for Aubrey but she doesn't know yet)! ![]()
I have 2 that look right in between so I might even have 10 girls but I need to give them another week or so. All the others are very obvious. These babies are such cutie patooties!!! And they are already huge love bugs!
All of my babies are growing so fast! They are all used to me now and come up to get their chests rubbed or to get their heads lightly scratched. Especially the teenagers who are at that awkward pin head and fluff everywhere stage. ![]()

Did they turn out to be the LF or Bantams? You really need to post some pictures of them! The pin head stage cracks me up!
I want to see how the babies you got from me are doing too!

As long as nothing comes up,I'm thinking of heading down to Manteca tomorrow for that Serama show. I'd like to get a look at some seramas. Do they often sell chicks at a show like that?

They are most definitely LF! lol Boy when these things start growing they really take off!
OK if I can't get my main computer back up tomorrow I will take some pics with the camera phone. They are all getting so mellow now I can probably get a couple decent pics even with the slow shutter on this phone.
Well except for 1 of the lavenders, she is such an attention hog I can't get her to stay far enough away from me to take a pic! haha I'll have to get Steve's help.
All of the birds from you Candy and from Kim are now flying everywhere! It is the cutest thing to watch! I let them out in the big coop during the day and they run around flapping their wings like crazy! They don't get very high up but they sure do have a blast trying! One of Kim's older gals likes to try and mother them. They just want to run and play though. ![]()
Oh I did separate the little black one from Kim and the small lavender from you Candy. They are best buds now. They were getting smooshed by the bigger chicks so they get their own temporary brooder for now.

The chicks sound SO cute! Those lavenders ARE hard to take pictures of! They are VERY friendly and want to come right up and see what you are doing. The W/BW chicks I kept, especially the 3 roosters are like that too. I am glad the little lavender chick is doing well and has a buddy! I will be looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Hi guys
I hadn't been able to clean under rabbit cages since I first broke my wrist, so got Dakotah ans Kayla out there today with me. Did some one armed shoveling and then turned around and they have hay all over the place. Oh well, it'll be easier to clean next time.
Dakotah can't feed the birds. I have a roo that is out 24/7 and he's been flogged every single time he goes out there. Not to mention that he wanted chickens till mom got carried away and can't stand them now. so I had to fight off the roo while he shoveled and carried buckets to the raised bed. It's full of birds right now that are going through everything. So they pooped out on my. Dakotah is laying across his bed totally out. Makayla ran next door to play the first chance she got.
My daughter and her boyfriend are useless. I had chicks that hadn't had fresh food for 2 days just before Sunny picked them up. I had been able to get out and feed the the couple of days before, but they were some hungry babies for days. I swear these 2 deserve eachother, they have minus brains. I had no water with my recent quail hatch, so have 3 out of 11! One rabbit cage had 2 waterers one had none. No casualties THANK GOD! Brooder chicks outside..........same dang thing as last time. Feeder full of shavings and an indoor tub with my Silkied AM baby! OMG 2 lost FBCM chicks! My daughter tells me something is wrong with my chicks, so I get up and check and SHAVINGS!!!!! WTH?????????? So I have 1 FBCM chick left out of 3! The AM and ohhhh...don't remember what Karen gave me for company foor that one...are fine and of course the OE's that I always get to hatch, but so mad about those Marans chicks I could scream. OH!!! And when they fed then yesterday, they fed rabbit pellets, not layer. I can understand since they aren't marked, but I told then to feed Gamebird crumbles. I got more done with one hand than these ding dongs did with 4!
OK Sunny, is that one chick staying black????? If so it is a pure FBCM from a Davis hen and Prestley/Valentine roo. Should be very nice. If they're mossy they are going to lay either brown or olive.
I have 3 OE chicks if anyone wants them. Looks like all pullets. They're just starting to feather in.
I'm going to be taking some roos to auction on monday. I'm going out to try and get picks, so if someone needs a pretty roo let me know. I'm still trying not to get rid of Jovi, but if someone would give him a good home and return him if they change their mind, I might do that. He's big and gorgeous. His dad came from one of the bluest eggs I've ever seen and was SQ blue AM and mom is a Davis hen, so he would be great with some OE or EE hens.
This is Jovi and Sterling. Sterling was hatched from Lav AM eggs. I've seen a project on the AM thread with birds that look like him, but everytime I ask a question on the thread a bizillion pics go up right behind mine and I NEVER get answers. I wanted to keep him, but need to get rid of roo, soooo He is available too.
Wife of Bill Riley 2/4/49-7/12/10 Save a spot for me! Need hatching eggs?

Hi Kim. So sorry about your babies!
Looks like you're gonna have to ignore the doctor's orders to rest huh? That stinks but life seems to work that way.
No the little black one is coming in a little mossy. That's ok though. I have folks wanting OEs right now so I need them. Get better soon!
OK gotta go see if DH will help me get pics of the juvenile babies.
