i have been searching in vain for years for a good pair of rain boots. My ideal would be like those yellow boots we got as kids (back in the 1950's). In goes the foot, the rest of the boot is just straight up to your shin. Easy on, easy off.

Seems that all the boots i find now curve in at the ankle. And, it may sound strange, but it gives my foot claustrophobia. Plus, it's a struggle to get them on and off. i've looked in Walmart, Target, Kmart, feed stores, sporting goods stores - no luck. Although, i did find a nice inexpensive rain jacket at Kmart in the sporting goods section.

Anyhow, if anyone has any suggestions or leads, it would be most appreciated. The crocs i've been wearing out in the pens don't quite cut it in the pouring rain.

My favorite so far are black rubber boots from the feed store. They are not cheapie stinky rubber boots like the ones I see at walmart.

Not sure on the brand as the tag is long gone, and there is no printing.Next time I stop I will jot the name down. They were under $20,and way better than any boot I bought at the department stores.I bought for the kids at stores and the liner inside the boot got loose in a few months. I bought them the black ones, and a year later they are still good. The black boot liner is almost like melted into the boot,so no way will it come loose.Cleans easy and I don't think it has curves.

They had muck boots and other brand name boots too.Pretty colors and patterns, but the cost was outrageous compared to the plain black ones. I love my rubber boots!

Personally, I like Muck Boots. I tore a hole in one and had it stitched up. No problem with leaking "yet". They don't fall over like the others I have had. Ankle blisters are a thing of the past for me.

Yep, I love my Muck Boots also. But she wants something like the old fashion yellow ones, so Wellies are the ones!

Muck boots? What are those and where does one find them?

i'm not partial to any particular color. i just don't want anything that pinches in at the ankle. i'm also a little afraid to order anything online. i did try on a pair of boots at one of our local feed stores, and they were pinchy. We do have another large feed store a ways away that i should check.

i really appreciate the suggestions.
