I was going to make a post about this but see someone else already started one. I bought a dozen eggs from a local hatchery (whom I've bought from before and got awesome birds from) of Black and Blue French copper Marans. He hatched them out for me and gave me the chicks. Upon inspection they looked the way they should but now (4 weeks later, got them when they were 2-3 weeks) I've noticed two of the Black's have white pinion feathers. They don't seem to have white anywhere else but have a white feather on one side of thier body. Does this mean they aren't pure like I thought? I've bought Marans from him before (seen his parent birds but THIS dozen was bought from a friend of his) so did I get duped or does this just sometimes happen?
