Thank you so much for this - I have loved this site and people since the beginning! BYC people have become some of my dearest friends on FB (we rallied and friended each other initially so we'd have more neighbors for FarmTown :D ) It's a great resource, dear people and a common thread we all sure love. Thank you Thank you Nifty. This has been a gift

Will there be 7, 8 year badges too? My 8 yr anniversary is coming up in a few months. :D I love how we can chat and read posts from folks in our local areas (state threads).
 
What a great idea. Will also give us a bit of a better way to work out who has been doing this for a while when taking advice about things. Especially when viewing on mobile devices it's not always easy to see at first glance how much experience the person has but the badges are (assuming it's like the administrator and golden feather badges?) a quick way to see it ain't their first rodeo

For the anniversary awards, no. We simply try to limit the sheer volume of them so it's a manageable manual task and use a calculation based on the three main factors of:

  1. Join Date
  2. Recent Activity
  3. Total Post Count

We have other awards for other types of member involvement.
