I ordered one of these yesterday online. I had purchased an 10 gallon Igloo Water Cooler to mount it on at Lowes for only $24. Has anyone else had any experience with the product? Do they work well? Any design flaws or other issues?Since they are clear, are there any algae problems during he summer months?

All feedback is appreciated.

I'm not familiar with that brand. I have a bunch of the 5gal rapid clean waterers that premier sells and have nothing but good things to say about those. You will have to let us know what you think of the brand you bought.

I sure will bigzio. I'm hoping it works as promised. I'm guessing that your watering buckets have the poultry nipples on them? Did they freeze up any on you? Did you use a heater? The manufacturer told me that even though a heater would keep the water in the cooler warm that the nipples could still freeze and recommended keeping a light on them to keep them thawed.

I have several of those including a metal one but the light bulb trick didn't keep it from freezing when it dipped down into the single digit temps. I even bought a heated one similar to yours but every time I'd fill it, the bottom would fall off and soak my legs and feet. The fit was horrible and just turning it over or trying to hang it up caused the bottom to fall off. I took it back and bought a large Rubbermaid feed pan/water bucket. When it freezes, it's easy to get the ice out and is virtually indestructible. I'm trying to get away from having to haul water every day and twice a day when it's real cold.

Another feature is you just buy as many extensions as you need. Each extension serves 18 to 24 birds so it grows as your flock does..

That's pretty cool. I sent you a photo in a PM that a guy shared with me for a maintenance free system that can be adjusted for the number of birds in your flock.

Yep, those heated waterers that you refer to are some real junk. The premier waterer is high quality and the bottom doesn't fall off...LOL!

You don't have to tell me about them being junk. My feet and legs had been soaked a number of times before I finally gave up and took it back. The lady at the register told me that a lot of them had been returned.
