Coyote or Wolf

That is a coyote just my 02 cents.I have been hunting coyotes for the past 15 years yes they will take your pets if left un attended.Make loud noise and try to scare them off they are more afraid of you than you think.Do you live in wolf country? Good luck

it is impossible to say from that picture at that distance without good picture quality or anything near the animal for a size comparison, I would say coyote as wolves are very long in the legs. go out there and find its tracks and take a picture of them with a dollar bill or soda can or something next to them, wolf tracks are very large, can even be larger than a very large domestic dog track ,4 inches plus, coyote tracks are quite small, usually only 1.5 to 2 inches

I don't believe wolves live around me but I have heard people say they do. I live near Plattsburgh, NY. I had to bring my son to his hockey game right after I took this picture and it started snowing so the tracks were covered in snow by the time we got home.

This was in my backyard today. It is a wolf or a coyote? I couldn't zoom in anymore so the picture is not the greatest.

depending on where you live it might be both. coywolves are now all over the Midwest. PBS had a special on them last month. worth watching. It showed how coyotes mated with wolves in Canada about 80 years ago and have spread south and west. Had them running around central park in NYC.

<------- THIS IS UR COYOTE (see how narrow the nose is? and how pointy the ears are?)

ABOVE IS A COYOTE IN THE SNOW... LOOKS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO YOUR COYOTE ;)
Using all my graphic and paintshop programs you have yourself a coyote.. get wolf urine predator pee... (google it) get the 33 day dispensers and some stakes and git r done! ;) if you see it again.. watch the ears... pointy and tall coyote.. shorter and round tips..wolf.. ;) hope i helped ;)

Very unlikely that you have Wolves in your area. These days they are mostly in Alaska, Canada, and in places such as Montana, Idaho, and parts of Michigan and Wisconsin. I believe they have introduced some into protected park ranges in Arizona and New Mexico. In Indiana they have a small pack up north within a confined range area..... Coyotes are pretty prevalent.
