Coyote or Wolf

Coyotes and wolves are not friends, they do not get along with each other. Wolves will kill coyotes

From Wikipedia :

The Eastern coyote (Canis latrans "var."), also known as the New England canid or tweed wolf, is a wild canid of mixed grey wolf-coyote parentage present

Coywolves are canid hybrids of wolves and coyotes. They have recently become common in eastern North America, where they have been considered eastern coyotes, eastern wolves, or red wolves.

Check the size of the prints in the snow...a coyote has small prints and a wolf print is about the size of a mans hand.
I'd say coyote...spray apple cider vineagar around your property..run a radio and haze it loudly..be careful if its a she tote with pups...they are more aggressive.

this mixed parentage refers to a small number of occurances throughout history which has caused the eastern subspecies of coyote to evolve into a larger coyote over time. Wolves and coyotes do not run around intermingling and breeding. What these folks say is true the 2 species don't get along they compete for territory and the smaller coyote loses. These rare breedings generally occur at times of major imbalance in population, like when a wolf expands into new territory where there is no wolf breeding stock present, then the wolf will MAYBE breed a coyote.
