Come one, come all!

What are you planning to incubate?

Hatching on August 8th means that chicken eggs would go in the incubator on the 18th.

I am going to incubate quail eggs, so mine should go in on the 21.

(I will not incubate more chicks, I will not incubate more chicks, I will not incubate more chicks)

I am getting Phoenix, silkie, White Fae Black Spanish, Buttercups, bqckyard banties and something as yet unknown. I am excited. We have had mostly large fowl so I figure the banties only count as half so I can have twice as many.:D

Are the white face black Spanish and buttercup bantam or standard? All pure bred? From breeders?

Tell me all! :D

I love the color of Buttercups....obe of the reason I picked golden pencilled Hamburgs.....same color, different comb.

Al are banty except the Phoenix. Most will be coming from Dr Bramwll who is the director of the Poultry Sciences department at the U of Arkansas. He keeos a heratigebreeding program. My Favorelles, Houdan, Dorkings, & Sumatras came from him. The Phoenix, silkie, Spanish &Buttercups will come from him. I will hatch more than necessare (I hope) and give away most to 4h kids here. My daughter qnd son willl show our other birds in the fair this fall.

I will be getting soma backyard banties from a friend. I also pln to order some eggs off of one of the auction forums here so I won't know what is available to purchse for a few days so that will be like surprise eggs.:D

Set 9 Turkey eggs today should hatch on the 8th. If turkeys can play along.

Yeah! We would love to have you! :D

How long is turkey incubation? 27 days?

I am actually a bit bummed that I will be setting quail eggs...so stinking difficult to see inside them! :rant i loved the white chicken eggs I incubated this spring, I could SEE!!!!

Turkey eggs are difficult to see in, right? Or, does it vary by breed?

28 day incubation. Turkey eggs aren't to bad to candle. The ones I have now are white and speckled.

Just xandled some due on 30th had 8 developing.

ACH!!!! Looks like I will be doing a staggered hatch! My friend with the banties just brought me eggs today and said she would have more for me on Friday. No idea how old the eggs are but I am going to crank up the bator tonight and see what I can do with them. Hopefully something will make it.
