Acoustifence

Has anyone used this or something similar?

I am thinking about lining the left side of our coup and run to reduce some of the noise going toward our neighbors house. It would also work well for needed shade along that side.

It's also paintable.

I got a quote from them at $22 per linear foot.

Wow, steph, I didn't know they made those kinds of things. But it would eat up my yearly budget for chicken keeping.

Holy CHICKEN!! That's waaay out of my league cost-wise, not to mention it is absolutely ugly. I well imagine sun damage after a few years and it'll look all tattered...JMHO..

I figured it would probably cost about $175 to cover the entire left side of the coup and run which is 6' high and 8' long.

Ok that's not too bad. I was thinking about some much longer than 8'.

Sometimes, we do what we have to do to keep our chickens. I live next door to a wealthy man ( real nice until he married into money 3 mo ago) Now all complaints about the crap I leave out or have sitting around. It's a chicken yard for heavens sake.

White 5 gallon buckets are an eyesore I guess.

Wait a minute steph, I watched the video of it and they said it must be airtight. It's not going to work. They had it on the ground the man was standing on and lowered the rest of the box. It cut's the sound 95% but it has to surround it.

I am glad to see someone using technology to their advantage in the keeping of birds. They are noisy at times, and if it is a sound that someone next door does not like… well things can go down hill in a hurry. The cost you noted is very reasonable to me, AND if it does help with the perceived problem, then it is priceless. I was unaware of the product, until I followed your link.

Now I have another weapon in my quiver of chicken keeping tips & tricks. Thank you for the post and the information. I am sure others may find it of value as well.

Best to you and your quiet birds,

RJ
