Breed-Gender-Age

Finally! Thanks for helping me understand. I do have another question though. If you're trying to change the pattern or color of an Ameraucana how would you do that - like if you would like to get more lacing on the feathers?

Are you speaking of true Ameraucanas here as opposed to EEs? True Ameraucanas come in ten recognized colors, Black, Blue, Blue-wheaten, Brown-red, Buff, Blue, Splash, Silver, Wheaten, and White. The only way to get lacing in them would be to breed them with a breed that was laced, at which point you would no longer have an Ameraucana, but an EE.

I was thinking that this was the case as well, but wasn't sure enough to say so. Thanks Michael :)

Ok I think I understand now. I'm not doing any hatching, was just curious. I'll leave the genes to the ones that know. I just have to make sure what I have are pullets/hens! We can't have Roos here. Thanks for the help you guys!

Ok need help from people in the know again. I just got 2 more chickens (about a week ago) that are supposed to be approx. 7 month old pullets & laying. But neither one has laid since I got them. Could someone please give your opinion what you think. Appreciate all the help you guys are giving & believe it or not, I am learning quite a bit.

Two pretty little pullets - and the look about right for the reported age. I would suspect the move has just disrupted their production.
