You will never guess what! My rir eggs arrived whoop whoop so they went in at about 9 this morning. So will 11 hours make much difference when i comes to lock down and hatch day?

I know to get the humidity up up UP during lockdown, that's fine. Slightly lower temp? First time I have heard that - please explain! How much lower? Thank you!!

Dorper, iver read this in a few locations. Manual with bator, internet, poultry raising book i have.

As i understand, high humidity to make sure membrane doesnt dry and vacuum pack the little guys.
Lower temperature, because the internal pip is when they take their first breaths and the cardio system starts... It also starts to produce its own body heat at this point, hence the slightly lower temp requirement.

Ive been aiming for a bit over 37 oC for first 18 days, then a bit under for the hatch. So maybe targets for me are 37.2 oC and 36.7 oC. So about 1 oF less in the other scale...

Read around, youll find references to it

I wouldn't think it would make too much of a difference, probably just half a day? =D I should put the rest of my babies in then, too!

I'm going to go ahead and throw the rest of my eggs in there! Even if they are 24 hours apart, I'll go ahead and put them into lockdown together! WOot!
