Noticed at work that the bags of coffee I bring in were getting lower. I had not been making coffee and our other coffee drinkers make the generic brand we keep in the back. The coffee I get runs between $11.00 to $12.00 a bag depending upon where I buy it.

Had one co-worker suck down 3/4 of a brand new bottle of coffee creamer I had just bought and opened.

Day before Thanksgiving I had made an italian sandwiches that a friend taught me to make and I had wrapped them all up in plastic wrap and snuck them in the back. I hid them in the produce cooler and told the people who I consider friends about them. They all thanked me for my thoughtfulness. No lunch break that day.
Well the moochers found out about the sandwiches and they scarfed them down. Not a one thanked me for them. The reason I didn't tell them is because they would have eaten them all before anyone else got one.

I have had several items disappear that I have bought.

Just took all of my coffee home and I now leave nothing behind that can be taken.

We normally do a pot luck on Christmas Eve, but not sure I will be bringing anything. Maybe a small box of crackers and a can of cheese!

This is what I would do and I've done it.

Make a nice sandwich and put a nice schmear of toothpaste in it or anything safe that taste gross that won't make them sick.
Load your cold drinks in containers with salt .
Refill your coffee creamer with flour if powder or mix in something like garlic juice into a liquid.

With the coffee. My first thought is to replace the contents in the bag with espresso. Or the cheapest cheapest bargain coffee you can find.

I just love doing things like that. Not to hurt someone, but to really get a point across without saying anything. And make yourself good coffee at home and put it in a thermos that you can hide in your locker or purse.

Those ideas should get the point across. We have a similar problem at work. When something is brought to share, some folks think that it is just for them. They eat as much as they like, not giving a second thought that everyone would like some. One of our patients brought us 3 dozen types of pastries and all was eaten in one day. There was only 8 people working that day and didn't think that maybe the rest of us would want some the next day. I really think someone probably took the rest home. When we have meals catered, some employees will take home plates to their families and take home the left overs. Don't mind if they're hungry and don't have food in the house, but leave the food there if not. Most of the employees and the people who weren't there for the meal enjoy the leftovers the next day. I really have a problem with people who think they are entitiled, but that is another subject.

Love those suggestions! Thought about exlax chocolate chip cookies too!

Luarat that is the problem with the moochers they feel they are entitled to anything anyone brings in and leaves on the back counter. There are 5 of them. There are 16 people total working there.

It happens everywhere. For example, last week I bought plastic forks, a bottle of ketchup, a can of coffee and some creamer for the break room at work. I obviously left them there because I wanted to use them at work, and I didn't mind others using them either (why I didn't take them home at the end of my shift). The next day, the whole brand new bottle of ketchup I bought was gone. I'm assuming someone took it home with them. And yesterday, I sat down to eat my lunch and didn't have a fork to use because they were gone as well. I bought more and made sure not to leave them for anyone else :/ My coffee and creamer are almost gone too, and I've only made one pot :barnie There are 5 people in my workplace, that's it! I'm not going to spend my hard earned money for things like that anymore, just to have it disappear because someone thinks its okay to take things they obviously didn't pay for. The nerve. It just makes me SO angry. Now I have to carry forks and ketchup around in my purse, just so I can have them if I need them.

I guess there's a lot of people out there who don't understand the word Reciprocation.
I had a 6 pack of soda in the fridge at my barn and one day I know it's my last one and would you believe someone drank half of it and put it back in the plastic ring!

I leave my plastic spoons and other stuff in my truck or I take it home with me at night anymore.

We had a nifty solution to that at one place I worked. One of the secretaries was in charge of the refreshments area. When you made coffee or tea and used 'house' materials you had to put money in the pot. If people failed to pay, there would not be any more when it was gone. Also, a large shame culture here...
