Your doodles I would frame and display them, they are very good, and those bookends are pretty nice too. Love them both.

I think chickens usually look a bit grouchy. Unless they are snuggled down to sleep, then they look happy.

They are thinking, where's our T-day treats..LOL.
Guess since the top beaks point down, they look grumpy? Maybe a straighter line between upper and lower beaks …… and eyelashes would help.
I have studied perspective, but never seem to get it accurate. Thinking about using a photo of one of my gals to study for another trial. Once can get one a little better, gonna try Donna Dewberry's technique and paint it ( she has never done chickens, but I have her instructions on bird feathers - so should be similar).
Honestly, thought this would get some chuckles, so for a real laugh….tomorrow will post something I have painted.
I can't wait, I have tried painting chickens in the past, I wasn't happy, thinking about trying again some day, but I'm too busy looking at them all the time, excited to see someone else's artwork.

IMO real art talent, like yours, is a God given thing, and the rest of us can try to find a way to have fun and make life more interesting.
