Tending to my chickens
Day 1- I bought a still air incubator. For a trial, I've put three eggs in it, although it can hold much more. The temp is set to 101 degrees since it is a still air, and it is holding constant at that. Humidity is around 45%. The eggs are a Wyandotte rooster x Amber Star, Australorp, and a White Star bantam hens. I've read about hatching chicks for 2 years now. This is my first time hatching, so all tips and advice are welcome.

Good luck!!

I have the 9300 Still Air Incubator without the fan or egg turner. Like this:

It's my first one and it was on sale (who can't resist sales?). Has your incubator been trustworthy?

Well, I stole the bator from my sister...lol So it had a few hatches under it's belt to begin with. My last two hatches the bator ran great. (My first hatch was a fail, but that was not teh bator's fault. I was relying on a single (brand new) brand new (unchecked) thermometer and anfter the failed hatch found out the thermometer was 6 degrees off....so I took care of that with three other thermometers..lol and second hatch was great. This hatch my heating element is going wonky and throwing out more heat on one side and throwing everything off! I'm just hoping it doesn't compromise my whole hatch! I'll go get the thread url for silkie-feet's thread on the 9300 and you'll have to come over and join the convo over there as we compare our little giant hatches.

Now we're on day 2- The temp is holding at about 101 degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity is in the mid 40%s. Since it's only day 2, there's not going to be any signs of development, but I can't wait until day 7 (with any luck)!
