Mine are always up for DCW (dry crunchy worms). Expensive tastes.Wow...you did get some ice.
Bantambird...mine like anything they perceive as a treat.
I love the snow, guess thats the kid in me that likes the snow.
It's sunny and 32°F here, but the wind is blowing. We don't get ice storms or freezing rain. Because of the high winds, we get sublimation which is the passing of water directly from a solid phase (snow, ice) into a vapor. That and living on a sand dune removes the need to deal with mud.Even at this very moment, it's 32 degrees outside (sorry @R2elk since that is a heatwave out your way), freezing rain is STILL falling - yet nothing is melting. Sadly, winter hasn't even really started yet!!
so I deal with it KNOWING Spring will get here -
I live on a mountain ridge between two mountains - and it's full of rocks (shale and granite complete with fossils). Even here, most of my place does NOT have mud and I can drive my truck around and not fear getting stuck. However, there are a couple of places - the old little run that goes directly into the chicken barn and the sidegrade from the driveway to the run - will get mud two feet deep. All I can figure is that area (at some point when the prior house was first built) had excess dirt hauled in, probably to make a yard with real grass. It's sunny and 32°F here, but the wind is blowing.
