Ah, Yoshimi. She is little turd.
You may remember that little funny one that hatched out with the neurological disorder last summer? Well, she was the only spawn that hatched out under a chicken from my recently deceased call hen, Ruth. A bald eagle swooped down and got her right in front of me. Rotten thing. Anyhow, the little thing only lived a week, and I was super bummed that I had no babies from Ruth.
The gal that gave me my calls last year said she had a late hatch, and I could take some. I decided to only take one, and thus, Yoshimi, the house duck arrived into my life.
She's a fearless little thing, though I fear that she may be a turncoat since I added the new group. One of the blue fawn hens, that I named Bambi, has taken to her. They appear to be buddies. She'll probably decide to be a duck full time soon.
