13th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

I hope I’m typing this in the right spot. I really want to join the hatch along. Do I just stop collecting the eggs on the 26th? I have nine hens and one rooster that I got as chicks from My Pet Chicken last August. They started laying early February . Is there a link here on what to do? Thanks. Sorry if I typed this in the wrong spot.

If one of your hens will/is broody, then you just let her sit on some eggs, so in a sense, yes, although you have to have a broody hen. Otherwise, you can get an incubator and set eggs on the 26th.

I just play it safe and make sure I have all the eggs in. Because I know at least with my hens if there's eggs laying around they just looove going broody.

Yes! We have ducks but any time we go away for the weekend we come home to a nest and broodies!

I'll be setting eggs with you! I will be hatching for only my second time this year. I did not have very good success last year, but am hopeful this year will be better!

I'll have eggs of my own and my brother-in-law's co-worker is going to donate some blue eggs from his flock so I can add some to my hatch.
