Hmm... trying to decide how many I should set! I have at least 12 eggs, but I can get a whole lot more! (My incubator can hold up to 22) Any suggestions on quantity? (I can't keep the chicks, but I have some people who will take a few (let me know if you want any!))

This sounds so fun! Im attempting at breeding my silkie to my cochin, she lays eggs and my silkie is trying to mate. Dunno if itll happen in time and ill be able to get a broody but ill see if i can join! Goodluck to everyone else who is egg hatching

I ended up buying an incubator just for this hatch-a-long!

I have collected 28 eggs so far but not all of them appear to be fertile so it’s going to be a gamble picking out the right ones for set date!

I heard my peafowl mating today. Hopefully that means we have fertile eggs in a couple of weeks. And yes, they make a sound when they breed. The sound is at about 28 seconds in.

I have always wanted them! Spouse though doesn't like the sounds they make...

Since I'm wanting eggs for this hatch a long my chickens have spectacularly stopped laying about a week ago

I'm saving up some pullet eggs to try ... and I have some eggs that are about 2 weeks old that I'm going to throw in

Twelve is a nice number, especially if it’s likely that you might have to keep the extra chicks.
I wound up succumbing to the temptation of filling my incubator one year during the hatch a long, and wound up doubling the size of my flock! I had about 60 birds that year

I think I'm gonna be able to join!!! My pigeon just laid her first egg yesterday. They'll probably hatch a few days early, but at least it'll be in the general range of Easter, lol.
