14th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along
Hatching Chick Photo Contest
Ends April 16th, 2023​

Welcome to the Hatching Chick Photo Contest. The stressful time of watching your chicks grow in the egg is now over, and hatching can begin. So get your cameras out because this contest is for pictures of chicks, ducks, emus, quail, or any other domestic fowl hatching. At least one of the birds must be still partially in the eggshell (see pics of past winners below for examples).

Prizes

Place	Prize
1st	$50 BYC Store Gift Certificate, or 1-year PFMs ($60 value) for themselves or a friend.
2nd	$30 BYC Store Gift Certificate, or a 6-month PFM ($35 value) for themselves or a friend.
3rd	$15 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 3-month PFM ($20 value) for themselves or a friend.
4th	1-month PFM for themselves or a friend.

BYC Store Gift Certificates are available to winners in the United States. If the winners are outside the United States, they will be awarded the PFM instead.

To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.

Rules:

1. An entry is *one* picture of your domestic hatching fowl.
2. Four entries per member. An entry is *one* picture of your domestic hatching fowl.
3. All domestic hatching fowl allowed (chickens, turkeys, peafowl, guinea fowl, quail, waterfowl, pheasants, emu, etc.).
4. At least one of the hatchlings must be partially in the eggshell.
5. The picture needs to have been taken by you.
6. Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
7. No screenshots, watermarks, date stamps, text, etc., on the picture. No collages.
8. You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
9. High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
10. No people in the picture (no faces, fingers, hands, arms, etc.).
11. ALL pictures MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
12. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
13. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
14. Entries will be accepted until April 16th, 2023, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

This is my first born. He/she had an accident a week before hatching so in sheer panic I taped my baby up. This picture was the most beautiful sight when I thought I lost her. I call him/her Lucky and Lucky is now 3 weeks old and thriving.
