That is my own designer color. I also get yellow and blue, but haven't kept any. I've always found people who are happy to add them to their backyard flocks.
I really don't understand bird genetics, so all the information is great.
I'm not overly concerned about the deaths. It's a learning curve. I've hatch for a number of years and deaths and clears and all the other things are part of process. I've done chickens, turkey, quail of two types and probably soon, ducks, so know the trials and tribulations. With the exception of a few old Easter eggers, all my birds have been hatched by me from shipped eggs or my own eggs and my current flock is in the 60's among three breeds.
